We all know the saying, "If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy." But stop. Think about it. This does NOT give you permission to expect everyone else to keep you happy. It does NOT mean that just because the kids are whining or yelling or fighting, you get to act like a 2 year old, too. It does NOT mean that just because you are tired or stressed you get to snap or scream at your family. What it DOES mean is that YOU, the wife and mother, are responsible for setting the tone of your household.
YOU must make your own attitude one of happiness so that the people around you can reflect back that happiness. YOU, the keeper of the home, can turn the tide of a bad day by simply having a good attitude. It is YOUR duty as wife, mother, and homemaker to share God's love and joy with those around you. And trust me, if Mama resolves to be happy no matter what, the family will come around quickly! So today, take a deep breath, say a little prayer, and smile!
